So much has happened since we last met here on the intertubes. Here are some highlights:
1. LA returned from the desert! She told me all about everything. The whole thing sounded like something that would make me very, very uncomfortable. All of it. Except maybe the views. She promptly ate some Indian food from the restaurant down the street that she’s officially obsessed with. Yoshimi helped.
2. I turned 34! I have officially outlived Jesus, which feels like an accomplishment. But then: I’ve made far fewer sacrifices. My mother mailed me a cake (which was DELICIOUS), LA’s parents made me steak (ALSO DELICIOUS) and lots of friends came and hung out with me. The hit of the party: Lisa‘s bacon candy. We were all like “whaaaaaaaaat.”
3. I was featured as part of Westword‘s 100 Colorado Creatives Series. So: that was neat.
4. Michelle and I finished the script for Ham McBeth. It is seriously hilarious. We can’t really look at each other in rehearsal or we start cracking up. This is of concern as we have very little time to get our shit together: the show is soon!
5. I accidentally sent an email to someone at work that was meant for someone else. The opening read: Hey, NERD. The person I inadvertently sent it to is not someone I know. At all. I sent an apology, but didn’t hear anything back…should I be worried?
6. I started watching the new season of Arrested Development. So far, so good.
7. Christina and I had a productive meeting. However: we are all still having a heart attack. Because apparently, to complete this film shoot, we need things like a “Whole fucking courthouse,” as you can see from our notes. Anybody got a courthouse they can let us borrow???
8. Gleason is here! She’s also concerned about the need for a “whole fucking courthouse.” Among other things.
9. THIS!
10. I’m getting new chairs. They are gorgeous. You can come over and sit in one when they arrive, if you like.
11. Virginia left this morning in her RV for new adventures. I made her a mix cd. I hope she likes it. One of my first memories of Virginia is from before I even met her. It was probably early summer a few years ago and I had my windows open. Someone in the ‘hood was blasting, and I mean BLASTING Shania Twain’s Man, I Feel Like a Woman. I was like, “wtf?” I walked outside to see if I could figure out where it was coming from. It was coming from Virginia’s condo, across the street. Her windows were open, too. Safe travels, friend. This one’s for you:
