12/12/12

Today is the last of the repeating dates that we will live to see. There will not be a 13/13/13. Well, there could be. We’ll just all be dead. Probably. It would require adding an additional month to the calendar year, which I don’t think will get pushed through the time-management committee by next year.

Further: pretty soon, there’s a chance that the world will end. Or some vibrations will occur. Or maybe: nothing will happen at all.

Sometimes I wonder: is this what the end will look like? (or perhaps: the beginning).

This was my horoscope the other day: “Beware of people who think that hiding how you really feel is some sort of superior, more powerful way to be. Not acknowledging your feelings can become a very unhealthy habit — one that can keep you from having honest connections with others.”

If the world might end in a few days, now feels like a good time to get some things off our collective chests, or as Jess likes to say: our chesticles.

Here we go.

Have you ever noticed that some people like to misinterpret literally almost everything a particular person says so that they can continue to feed some annoying need to perpetuate an unfairly negative view of said particular person? LET’S TALK ABOUT IT, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO OUR FEELINGS ABOUT IT. Here, I’ll start: that behavior drives me nuts, y’all! Let’s stop it!

I prefer this:

You Are LovedThis just feels a lot more accurate. Sure. There might be some stuff wrong with you. You might, in fact, be super annoying. You might be a total jerk a lot of the time. But chances are: you are loved. Somebody out there just can’t help it. Listen to that person.
