The Times.

I am back in Boulder after a much needed and very relaxing bit of time away. Here are some things that happened:

1. I swam around in the ocean.

2. I swam around in a pool very close to the ocean.

3. I laid around in chairs of various reclining capabilities.

4. I read a substantial portion of Donna Tartt’s The Goldfinch (um, it’s f*cking good, you guys).

5. I went through customs a total of 3 times (a piece of granite that LA brought me from Berlin was confiscated and disposed of during one of these jaunts and I almost cried, but didn’t because the thought of crying over a rock ultimately just felt really dumb).

6. I missed Isobel & Yoshimi.

7. I did Skype line-throughs with Tammy almost every day. From a hammock.

8. I ate a lot of meat.

9. I got up every day between 6 and 7:30 a.m.: this is unheard of in real life.

10. I got a sunburn.

11. I didn’t watch any TV.

12. I slept in a bed with LA for the first time in 2 months. I slept really well.

13. I Skyped with my brother and parents on Christmas Day. The Harrison’s and Samuelson’s saw each other for the first time ever. Virtual meetings are officially weird (but better than nothing).

14. I fretted minimally.

15. I felt better and better about the way things are going.

I am currently working on my best of 2013 mix. In the meantime, I’ve reposted my best of 2012 mix here for anyone who missed it. Don’t let them fool you: you have to click on the link that says “click here to start download from Sendspace.” Anything else you click on will be an ad for something you don’t want.

Gidion’s Knot opens next weekend. You should come. Start off the New Year right. It would mean a lot.
