Yesterday I opened my front door to gifts from LA. When she left a couple of weeks ago for Berlin, she gave her mother some gifts to surprise me with for our anniversary. Here is my favorite:
She made it.
Opening the door and finding this made me feel a little less annoyed by the fact that I had to go to work.
I remember sitting across a table from her a year ago at Proto’s Pizza in North Boulder and confessing that I wasn’t interested in seeing other people. Now: we have this tin can diorama to celebrate our first year together!
Later: my students complained about the fact that I have expectations. This is nothing new. Regardless: it never ceases to piss me off something terrible.
Last night, I decided not to waste time moisturizing and then I had a dream that my feet were really, really dry. In the dream: I was concerned.
Today I woke up to find myself sleeping in LA’s spot, while Isobel and Yoshimi were cuddled up against me, taking up my side of the bed. It was crazy windy out and I think they were scared.
This afternoon, I ventured out to get a flu shot. It took an unreasonably long time to get said shot. I mean: it was ridiculous. But now, hopefully, I won’t get the flu. Have you had the flu before? It is pretty much the worst.
In a little while: I am heading to Denver to see Buntport‘s new show, Electra Onion Eater. I can hardly wait.
Tomorrow I am FINALLY getting a hair cut. I haven’t had a hair cut since May. MAY. That’s a long dang time to go without a hair cut and it’s driving me crazy. What do you think about bangs?
After: I am grading grading grading. I hate grading. It’s always such a disappointment.
More After: I am going to see Jade and Ariella read at Innisfree with Lisa. Either before that, or after that: Lisa and I will eat nachos and catch up. NACHOS!
