A lot has happened since we last met here. So much, in fact, that I’m not even really sure where to start. I feel a little lost.
1. We’re nearing the end of the Boulder Fringe: the finish line is in sight. The Fringe got moved to September this year. I’m not a fan of this move. It’s too hard. Audiences have been much smaller across the board, and I know it’s going to get blamed on the flood (more on that later), but the truth of it is: this is one of the busiest times of the year for theatre. There’s too much competition. +: people are back to their “regular” routines, even people who don’t have anything to do with school. It’s just the schedule we all fall into this time of the year. Having the festival the last couple of weeks in August just makes more sense to me: it’s like the last fling of summer. But in September, everything has already flung and it’s hard to get people to come sit in a theatre for show after show, even when those shows are good. A lot of them this year are good.
2. There was a flood! An historic, epic flood. The dreaded 100-year flood (which really only means that there’s a 1 in a hundred chance in any given year that it will happen, not, as most people think, that it happens every 100ish years). Here’s what happened: over the period of just a few days, we got a year’s worth of precipitation. Sh*t got real, y’all. We were lucky. Our building flooded, but we live on the 3rd floor. A lot of other people were not so lucky.
3. I have taken to dancing around the apartment in my underwear. This makes Kelsie laugh harder than anything else I have ever done. Go figure.
4. JOHN KEEBLER CAME TO VISIT. We had so much fun. He is one of the coolest, most generous people I know. Also: he’s an awesome guitar player. I think he and Amy should move here. We’ll see.
5. People only email me when they want something. I’m kind of sick of it. Maybe I’m guilty of this, too. If you’re reading this: maybe just email me to say hi.
6. Hi!

Hi! (Just in case you’re wondering if some of us old folks are still listening)
HI!!!
Hi, too, Emily! I like those blue rain boots you got there.
HI! That’s actually LA in her blue rain boots. I have the same ones, but taller! They’re the best. Hope you’re well down there in the land of hot!
