Much to my dismay: the semester starts in mere days.
I always think I will get a break in the summer and I am always wrong.
The good news: I am a stalwart fan of Fall fashion. Which means I have something to look forward to.
I have been trying to prepare my syllabi between work, rehearsal, and fundraising/grant writing. On Monday I managed to get square’s Indiegogo campaign launched. You can check it out HERE. If you have a few bucks to throw our way, we’d be much obliged.
Some Kind of Fun opens next week. I am nervous. I talk a lot in the show and the show itself is very chaotic: what if I don’t start talking when I’m supposed to? I know that seems ridiculous to most anyone who’s an actor, but come see the show and you’ll know what I mean. Here’s a picture of parts of the set that I don’t ever appear on:
Here are some other things that have happened:
1. I tried to order a new bathing suit online because: I don’t own one. This is impossible. I ordered one I really liked, but the bottoms, despite being described as having a “full cut” did not cover my butt. I am not a particularly big-butted person, and for this reason: I find the whole thing disheartening. I mean WHO can wear this sh*t? I don’t want my butt hanging out! Are there people who want their butt hanging out? I know the answer to this question and it makes me tired.
2. I got my passport renewed (look out world!).
3. I’m gearing up for the Fringe. Mostly, I’m too tired to care except: Kelsie will be here AND my friend John is coming to visit. Let me repeat: JOHN WAYNE KEEBLER IS COMING TO VISIT.
4. I drank some Shiner Ruby Redbird. You guys: that sh*t is good.
5. I thought about buying some new boots. I am still thinking about buying some new boots.
6. I got cast in a show at Off-Center at the Jones. It falls smack in the middle of the only tiny piece of time I have off between now and October 2014 (seriously), but it was too good to pass up because: I get to play Vanna White. My Great Aunt Mary Love Dudley Willingham, may she rest in peace, would have been SO excited about this. We watched a lot of Wheel, back in the day.
7. I finished reading Moby Dick. That ending: I tell you what. Now I am reading a trashy paperback crime novel that Erin, Adam, and Byron gave me last winter.
8. Joe gave me almost a whole pizza. I ate it all for dinner.
9. I watched the entire season of Orange is the New Black. That ending: I tell you what. Now I am re-watching Twin Peaks with LA, because she’s never seen it and it’s conveniently on Netflix Instant.
10. I thought a lot about forgiveness and loss. We all have so much work to do
