It is finally here: SUMMER BREAK! I have calculated and submitted my grades and it’s hot enough in my office that I have to open the window. There are finally some leaves on the trees. I even rode my bike to work last week. It was pretty much awesome, once I caught my breath.
Today: LA left for a dance workshop in Moab for several days. This means I get to be bad. Very, very bad. And by bad I mean: I will be watching SO MUCH TV. Like: so much.
Despite the fact that I was in grading and registration hell for a few days, lots of great things happened this week. For instance:
1) Liza got a job! A really awesome job that is perfect for her! I will miss her, but it’s really great and well deserved.
2) Speaking of abandoners: Virginia is closing on her condo at the end of the month and taking off on RV adventures. Her condo sold in 72 hours, WHICH IS INSANE. I will miss her, too, but I know that she’ll have great adventures and LA and I will hang out with her in the desert or something someday and sleep in the bunk. By then Moses will be acclimated to RV life.
3) Also: LA had a really, really amazing show last night. It was a piece she’s been working on with Adam and it was AWESOME. Here she is after the show trying to find her tank top:
She eventually found the tank top and I have to say: the show was totally worth constantly finding army man body parts around the house for the last few weeks.
4) Before the show, I had dinner with LA’s parents. It was fun. I had a seriously delicious steak. After the show we talked about what a weird, brilliant kid they have.
5) I had drinks with Lisa FINALLY. It was so great to catch up! She is crushing her 2-day work week, of course. I had a giant beer. She had a normal sized beer. She made the better choice.
6) I just talked to Gleason! Like 5 minutes ago. She will be here soon to work. We have a lot of work to do. Christina arrives June 1, and I have two new interns. Shit’s gonna be cray.
7) Next week, the new season of Arrested Development starts streaming on Netflix. I’m so excited about it that I just teared up a little.
8) Tomorrow is a brand new day: perfect for watching television.
