So many things have happened in the last week +.
I won’t bore you with all of it. But here are some highlights, replete with photographic evidence where possible:
Yoshimi had to go to the vet for the 4th week in a row for his tenacious ear infection. He no longer has his left ear drum, BUT: the infection looks like it’s pretty much gone. And I got to see some bones in his middle ear. There are tiny bones in there! Cat ear bones! He doesn’t have to go back for a re-check for two weeks this time. PROGRESS. +: he might grow that ear drum back. He managed to make that happen in his right ear, so I’m betting on a new one in the left.
Saturday night LA and I went out to dinner at Frasca with her family to celebrate her mother’s birthday. It was super fun. And fancy. Have you been there before? If not: you should check it out. They really know how to serve a meal.
Tuesday was Community Practice Day at Naropa. Robert Spellman, one of my Naropa faves, taught a drawing workshop. I drew these peppers:
I think they’re pretty good! I might have missed my calling!
I started rehearsal for square‘s next show and I’m here to tell you: this shit’s gonna be good. Real good. Which is to say: most of the local critics won’t like it. But the more we get into the script the smarter I think it is. It’s seriously dark and clever, and outrageously funny and terrifying at the same time. I hope you’ll check it out, but if you live in Colorado I won’t hold my breath. You might want to take a stroll or smoke a j or something instead. As long as you’re productive!
Y’all: I ate some kale. I’m really into it. It’s good. Shut up.
In the midst of a late night snack, Isobel found herself surrounded. Woah: shit just got real. The look on her face tells you all you need to know: this wasn’t the first time and likely won’t be the last.
In other news: it is March! How did that happen? Miracles. I love Spring (even when it snows). In just a few days: Daylight Savings, which I truly love more than almost anything. It means light. It means warmth. It heralds the advent of the new.
